SAGE follows a comprehensive allergen management program which covers everything from purchasing and deliveries to food preparation and service to ensure community members with food allergies feel safe and included.
The daily menu can be filtered for 12 priority allergens (wheat, gluten, eggs, fish, milk, sesame, soy, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, mustard, and sulphites) and two eating patterns (vegetarian and vegan) using the filter function on the daily menu. This feature is also available on the Touch of SAGE app.
Please send an email to
sage@crescentschool.org if you have questions relating to your son's special dietary needs for religious, health or lifestyle reasons. The team at SAGE will be happy to give you a tour of the kitchen, show you ingredients, and discuss any concerns about their food allergy protocols.
Please also ensure that food allergies are appropriately indicated on the student’s medical form. This information should also be shared with the Wellness Centre at 416-449-2556 ext. 252 or nurse@crescentschool.org, along with the appropriate Head of School.
Crescent School is an allergen-aware and nut-safe environment. This means there will be no foods or snacks served or brought to the school that are known to contain peanuts, peanut by-products, nuts, or traces of nuts.
Food items labelled “may contain traces of nuts” cannot be brought to the school for sharing. Any food for sharing must be labelled as “nut free.” Any snacks that boys bring to school from home must be nut-safe. Food and drinks are not allowed in the classrooms or in the carpeted areas, except on special occasions.
