Dress Code

Crescent School has a Dress Code for several reasons: appropriate dress is a statement of pride in oneself and in one’s community; it demonstrates respect for the activity in which one is engaged; and, symbolically, it suggests that we are all equal and equally belong: we will be measured in this community by what we do and not how we look. Each student is expected to demonstrate respect for, and pride in, himself and the School by wearing and maintaining the uniform.

The School expects its students to be neat and clean in dress at all times; clothing is to be in good repair, and appropriate to the activity or occasion. Students dressed inappropriately will be expected to change into or purchase the appropriate dress clothing.

While the Dress Code falls within the purview of the School, a boy’s personal appearance with respect to hairstyles, facial hair, body piercings, etc. is a family matter and will not be regulated by the School.

The School will apply the Dress Code in accordance with its obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code.
