Procedures:
Daytime (weekdays) and Evenings/Weekends/Holidays:

Leave the immediate area. Close all doors behind you

Call 9-1-1 if

Medical treatment is required

Spill involves a fire/explosion

Spill is life-threatening

Daytime (weekdays), call reception (dial 0 from any school landline or 416-449-2556), which will then call Facilities
-
Evenings/Weekends/Holidays, call the facility duty phone at 416-999-1211
-
If you or someone else comes in physical contact with the chemical, rinse the affected area of the body with clean, cool running water for at least 15 minutes. If in eyes, hold your eyes open while flushing with water (eye wash stations are located in each science lab)

Alert your manager and anyone in the immediate area

Treatment should immediately be sought, using the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for the hazardous material. MSDS can be found online or through our Facilities department.

Respond to the spill only in accordance with your level of training
Note: In emergencies, individuals with disabilities may need assistance to evacuate
