Power Outage

If there is no electricity.

Note 1: The school has two electrical feeds 
  • FEED 1 - CCL/Lau Family Wing/Field House 
  • FEED 2 - The rest of the property
Note 2: Any workstation hooked to emergency power (i.e., generator) will continue to work for up to 7 days. Any workstation with a personal Uninterrupted Power Source (UPS) will continue to work for approximately 30 minutes to allow users to properly shut down their workstations.

There are two possible scenarios:
  • SCENARIO 1 – Assuming one of the feeds has no electricity and the other one does
  • SCENARIO 2 – Assuming both feeds have no electricity
Procedures in the event of either scenario:

Daytime (weekdays), and Evenings/Weekends/Holidays:
  1. Notify Facilities via e-mail (facilities@crescentschool.org), or phone call (416-999-1211)
  2. Facilities will
    1. Evaluate the situation
    2. Contact our service provider 
      1. Report the outage 
      2. Find out the estimated time of repair
    3. Notify the Executive Team with repair time to decide next steps regarding the students/faculty/staff/guests
      1. Executive Team will determine 
      2. Whether or not students/faculty/staff/guests should be sent home
      3. Whether there is a need to relocate students /staff/guests
      4. Whether to notify parents
      5. Whether to consider different food service arrangement 
    4. Repair will then be on the way
    5. Notify the Executive Team on progress and repair completion
