Procedures:
Daytime (weekdays), and Evenings/Weekends/Holidays:

Leave the fire area. Close all doors behind you.

If the fire alarm has not been activated, activate the fire alarm – use a manual pull station (located throughout the school); once activated, the monitoring company dispatches the fire department.

Proceed to evacuate. Find the closest emergency exit sign and evacuate through those doors (please see the fire emergency plan posted near the door of every room). Close doors behind you, do not use elevators.

Make sure that all students are evacuated

All Fire Wardens should clear their sections

Once outside,

Go to designated area above

Take attendance of all staff/students

For faculty
-
Report who is missing to the Assistant Head (faculty and students)

Check in with your managers
-
Managers should report any missing staff to the main Fire Marshal

For students

Lower School
-
Meet with Home Form teacher to confirm attendance

Remain calm and quiet and wait for further instruction

Middle School
-
Meet with Home Form teacher to confirm attendance

Remain calm and quiet and wait for further instruction

Upper School
-
Meet with Mentor Group to confirm attendance

Remain calm and quiet and wait for further instruction
Note: Before confirming the number of missing people, count those who are at the Field House

For extended Crescent family, renters and guests.

Report who is missing to Fire Marshal

Follow all instructions given by the Toronto Fire Department/Toronto Police. Do not return to the school until it is declared safe by the Fire Department
