Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) is a non-profit human rights organization committed to countering racism and antisemitism and to promoting the principles of tolerance, social justice and Canadian democratic values through advocacy and education.
Crescent School has partnered with FSWC since 2016. FSWC has been invited to our classrooms to run their education and diversity workshops. Crescent has also participated in FSWC’s Tour for Humanity, a mobile human rights education centre that travels to schools and provides Holocaust and human rights education.
Crescent staff have participated in FSWC’s Compassion to Action, which takes police chiefs, educators and political leaders to visit Israel and the European sites of Nazi concentration camps. The program aims to break personal biases and ensure Canadian leaders base their daily decisions on a greater understanding of humanity.
Crescent invites speakers from the
Neuberger Holocaust Education Centre which coordinates speakers for the school’s Holocaust Education Week assembly held at Crescent each year.
