Eric is the Assistant Coach and Director of Analytics for the Toronto Raptors.
Eric Khoury ’06 received the Young Alumni Excellence Award for alumni who have distinguished themselves within 15 years of graduating from Crescent.
Can a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering and a master’s degree in experimental fluid dynamics lead to an NBA Championship ring? It did for Class of 2006 alumnus Eric Khoury.
After studying aerospace engineering at the University of Waterloo, Khoury went on to the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies to study experimental fluid dynamics for his Master's degree. While his research in particle imaging velocimetry was captivating, there was always a deep-seated interest in a career in professional sports.
Recognizing his work tracking particles overlapped with the NBA's work tracking players on the court, Eric reached out to the data analytics director for the Toronto Raptors. That led to a one-year internship, which flourished into Eric’s 10-year career with the Raptors, where he is now an Assistant Coach and Director of Analytics.
Eric is always happy to share his passion for the game and enjoyed working with Crescent's Senior D1 Basketball team during the 2019/2020 school year.
