The Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) is a student club overseen by Crescent staff members in conjunction with other COSSOT peer schools. It provides a safe, supportive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit, queer, questioning (LGBTQ2+) and straight ally youth to meet and discuss sexual orientation and gender identity issues. Together they work to create a school environment free of discrimination, harassment, and intolerance. In Fall 2020, the GSA program was expanded to include our Middle School.
Crescent celebrated Pride Week publicly for the first time in 2018. The Pride rainbow flag was raised in front of the school and activities were programmed for each grade. Our now-annual Pride Day event is an opportunity for Crescent boys to learn about the LGBTQ2+ community and talk about accepting diverse identities and being allies.
