• Technological Design Courses

  • A part of Crescent’s academic curriculum, Technological Design courses provide hands-on learning where boys design, program, wire and fabricate solutions to address a specific need.
  • Crescent's Grade 12 Tech Design course is a robotics collaboration with Sunny View Public School, which serves children with physical, social and cognitive disabilities. Crescent students work with Sunny View students to design and adapt toys and art equipment so that they are accessible for children with special needs.

• Upper School Team 610 FIRST Robotics Team

  • Upper School students can try out for Team 610, Crescent School's highly competitive robotics team. Crescent School is the only independent boys' school in Ontario that competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition at the world level. Boys in Grades 9-12 are welcome to try out; approximately 10 boys from each grade will be selected for the team.
  • In 2013, Crescent’s Team 610 robotics team won gold at the FIRST Robotics Competition World Championship, beating out 400 teams from around the globe. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a renowned international organization whose mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders.

• Lower & Middle School Team 610 Robotics Team

  • Lower and Middle School students can participate in Crescent's VEX IQ Robotics Club. Members work in small groups to design, build and program VEX IQ robots to compete in challenges such as SumoBots.
  • Lower and Middle School students can try out for Crescent's competitive VEX IQ Robotics Team. Students who make the team work in groups of four to design, build and program VEX IQ robots. The robots must complete challenges set by VEX Robotics.
  • In 2022, our Middle School robotics team won the VEX Robotics World Championships.
  • In 2018 and 2019, our Lower and Middle School robotics team qualified for the provincial VEX IQ tournament.
  • In 2017, Crescent boys in Grade 6 won the STEM Research Project Award at the VEX IQ Provincial Championships and qualified for the VEX IQ World Championships.
