Wall of Honour—Evan Solomon
Evan Solomon graduated from Crescent in 1987 and went on to study at McGill University where he completed a joint BA in English Literature and Religious Studies and then earned a Master of Arts degree in Religious Studies.
From Montreal, Evan travelled to Hong Kong and worked as a journalist writing for papers like The South China Morning Post. He later returned to Canada and co-founded Shift magazine, an award winning international magazine about technology and culture. Evan was the Editor-in-Chief of Shift and President of the company for eight years as it expanded into television and the Internet.
Evan also hosted several TV shows including CBC News: Sunday, a weekly current affairs news magazine program covering politics, culture and religion; CBC Newsworld’s provocative show on print culture Hot Type and Gemini award-winning CBC show Futureworld, exploring the latest developments in technology and innovation.
Other credits include hosting and producing the series The Change Makers, PBS in America series Masters of Technology and recently co-founding The Ingenuity Talks, a series which brings together the best and brightest minds from around the globe and has them solve intractable problems facing us all in the future. Evan also speaks regularly around the country on issues of culture, media and technology.
