Our Middle School is an integral link between the Lower and Upper Schools. Here students, faculty and parents interact to supports our core values – Respect, Responsibility, Compassion and Honesty.

Student Support

Student success is a key area of focus for the Middle School. This pursuit is supported very strongly by the Middle School's Student Centre—part of Crescent Student Services (CSS). Our Student Centre's learning support team is comprised of teaching faculty, trained health professionals and in-house learning specialists. It has a dedicated space in the school which students can utilize throughout the day, both during class time and outside instructional time.

The Student Centre provides learning support to three main groups.

  • Our boys are supported inside the classroom with in class support from teachers, can travel to CSS for intensive one-on-one support and can also utilize the space for after hours study areas and to access resources.
  • Faculty are exposed to new research in boys education and best practice instruction through CSS. Each year several faculty participate in or initiate research action plans that explore pedagogical trends, examine brain research or investigate social-emotional support mechanisms
  • Our parent community can attend workshops that focus on issues that are relevant to their interactions with the pre-adolescent children they are raising. Expert guest speakers are brought in to help lend support to parents on various topics that have been raised in the past as areas where additional information can be beneficial.

The Student Centre organizes all components of the learning process whether it be to set up and facilitate the administering of psychological testing and assessment, organize peer tutor lists, provide a space for individual needs learning environments or simply to listen to students with concerns. It is through the Student Centre that the Middle School ensures that all boys admitted into our challenging academic program are supported.
