For a student in our Lower School exploration is an everyday thing. A young man opens up new worlds for himself discovering his environment, his imagination, his limitless opportunities and himself.

Arts

Student exposure to the arts includes subject specialists who operate in dedicated space that has been specifically designed to allow for the best possible instructional environment. We have an impressive Visual Arts studio, a curricular Drama program and a dedicated Lower School classroom with a keyboard lab and Orff instruments.

Music, Drama and Visual Arts combine to provide the boys with a thorough exposure and indoctrination to the arts. The Lower School leads the annual Remembrance Day Assembly, has its own Winter Celebration in December, participates in the Kiwanis Music Festival and has a spring Arts Festival evening in May. In addition, the Lower School presents a play or musical once a year, for a limited run in the Centre for Creative Learning. The co-curricular choral program is complimented by trips abroad every second year, that allow for the exhibition of the boys' choral talents internationally.

The Centre for Creative Learning (CCL) offers a state-of-the-art, 350 seat theatre. Students can be challenged to go beyond their comfort zone in many performance opportunities beyond music, drama or public speaking. The CCL's backstage facilities allow students to experiment with professional quality audio-visual equipment.

It is our firm belief that a balanced education must include an education in the arts. Besides our curricular arts components there are many opportunities for all students to be involved in artistic endeavours outside the classroom.
