Founded in 1913, Crescent School, Toronto is a boys’ day school from grades 3 - 12. A leader in boys' education, Crescent is committed to developing Men of Character from Boys of Promise

Why a Boys' School

Crescent School was founded as a boys' school almost a hundred years ago, and remains proudly a school for boys today. Our history, experience and research have resulted in a rich and deep understanding of how boys grow, play and learn. We employ this knowledge daily in all of our interactions with our students, and in our continual review and development of our curricular and co-curricular programs. We are a school for boys by intention.

Crescent Student Services (CSS), our student support department, has a three-fold mandate: learning, wellness, and research. CSS provides support and enrichment for individual boys' learning, provides treatment and counseling for physical and social/emotional health, and, through partnerships with universities and teaching hospitals, sources current research into how boys grow and learn.

We understand that boys resist stereotypes and that they display a wide range of learning styles. We also understand that they need healthy models of manhood and constructive ways of testing themselves as young men. Our mission is to challenge and support each boy on his unique journey from boy of promise to true man of character, ready to take his place in the world as a good man, a loving partner, and a thoughtful, capable, committed, and active citizen.
